Firebrick Brasserie was excited to have Joanne Blythman, award-winning food writer & critic, investigative journalist and broadcaster, pay them a visit to sample their food and Borders hospitality. Reading her review in the Sunday Herald on January 10th 2016, we were honoured to have received a Food Rating of 10/10 and delighted that she enjoyed every aspect of her visit from our family, waiters and waitresses through to our carefully devised menus.
Our favourite part of her review… “And the chips, oh my giddy aunt, the chips! I’m not sure that I have ever had better. Cooked in dripping, they have that irresistible aroma reminiscent of the well-browned extremities of roast beef joint, and a dry crispness that most chefs only ever aspire to. In Michelin-speak, these chips alone are “worth a detour”.
